Neuroimaging Facility
The Neuroimaging Platform supports the execution of research projects involving the acquisition, management, and processing of brain images using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET).
Its team coordinates and analyzes image acquisition to achieve high quality neuroimaging procedures, using the MRI scanner exclusively dedicated to research available at the facility, and through the MRI and PET devices accessible via external collaborators.
The facility develops and applies state of the art processing and analysis methods in neuroimaging, including different brain segmentation, registration, and quantification methods for neuroimaging data. Furthermore, it implements and validates new techniques and protocols for neuroimaging with the aim to improve early detection and follow-up of brain changes associated with Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
The Neuroimaging Facility supports BBRC researchers and external collaborators in the design of studies, the analysis of neuroimaging data, and interpretation of its results.
