Clinical trials unit

Recent advances in the search for Alzheimer's drugs suggest that new treatments capable of slowing the progression of the disease could be available in Europe in the near future. There are currently more than 150 clinical trials underway to test potential treatments for Alzheimer's, and most are aimed at halting the associated biological changes.

The Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) works with the pharmaceutical industry and public-private projects in Alzheimer's clinical research to test drugs that can prevent or delay the onset of the disease.

Participants in the Alfa study and other BBRC research projects that meet the stipulated requirements are invited to participate in the different clinical trials against Alzheimer's disease that are carried out at the center.
